From watching his father and other family members flourish as attorneys, Michael G. Gulotta, Esq. desired to spearhead a career as a legal professional in his own right. He first earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in philosophy from the State University of New York College at Geneseo in 2010, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Touro Law Center in 2014. Between 2012 and 2013, he gained initial experience as an intern with the Islip Town Attorney’s Office and the Suffolk County Law Department, as well as under the Honorable Richard Hoffmann and Sarisohn Law Partners.
At the beginning of his professional endeavors, Mr. Gulotta served of counsel with Tantone & Gulotta from 2014 to 2016 and as an associate with Rubin & Rothman, LLC from 2015 to 2016. The following year, he found success as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County Children’s Law Bureau, going on to serve as a court attorney for the Suffolk County Supreme Court Law Department from 2017 to 2018, for which he also served as a senior court attorney throughout 2019.
Since 2019, Mr. Gulotta has excelled as an attorney and partner at Gulotta & Gulotta, where he specializes in personal injury and real estate law. The firm was previously owned by Mr. Gulotta’s father, who suddenly passed away while he was working for Suffolk County. He assumed control of the family business and modernized the firm’s operational processes, which expanded its digital presence and allowed for the introduction of new legal areas such as corporate law and traffic law to the firm.
To remain abreast of the legal realm, Mr. Gulotta maintains membership with the Suffolk County Bar Association, Italian American Lawyers Association and more. Notably, he was named to Super Lawyers Rising Stars, the Top 40 Under 40 and Exelon Magazine’s 10 Most Transformational Business Leaders in 2021, attributing his success to resilience in the face of adversity. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gulotta plans to shift the balance of cases at Gulotta & Gulotta to cater to more real estate cases, while ensuring the firm keeps its small business feel, as his father would have encouraged him to keep the operation small and always add a personal touch.
